New Hooks!

I just had to show off my new custom made hooks. Take a look at these babies. Jimbo makes them for you based on your grip style, and let me tell you they are worth every penny! Especially since he doesn't charge nearly enough for the hooks. The workmanship is fabulous!! Jimbo's hooks

Progress on the Scripture Afghan

Finally made some progress on the afghan for the CAL. Changed my mind on the color combo, so I had to frog a square and frog the trim on 4!! I'm glad I did though, I like how this lays out much better. I'm finished with the first 4 squares, got to go in order, lol. I have 1 of number 5 finished and am ready to begin the 2nd.
Back to work today, so no more fun until Saturday, hopefully. Get home Friday morning after my 7p-7a shift and go straight to the dentist for a root canal and 2 crowns!!! Hopefully, it won't be too bad and I can do a little crocheting on Saturday before I go back on Sunday.
Did my ACLS class last week, wasn't too bad. I had been dreading it, but it wasn't as bad as I had imagined. Well, gonna go have some coffee and wake up!

TADA!

Whew, finally my baby ripple is done! Don't mind the messy bed, gonna get back in it soon, lol. I used Bernat Baby Coordinates with Bernat LuLu as edging. I love how the edging came out looking like a stripe! Can't see it too well in the photo, but it's a perfect stripe pattern. Glad this one's done. The small hook and a tense hold during this project has caused tendonitis and I'm going nuts because I can't crochet! Anyway, go back to work tomorrow so it will be three 12 hour shifts and going to the hotel to fall into sleep until I get home on Friday afternoon. At which time I will pass out in my own bed for 20 or so hours! Then, back to the land of the living until I go back.....Sunday night! Yuck, I hate this part of my schedule, but I do love the next part. After my Sun,Mon,Tues then I'm usually off until the next Tuesday night! I have some education days I have to do this month that will cut into one of my long weeks, but no big deal. They are only 8 hour days and I will take my WIP with me! Gotta jet!

Made some progress on the baby ripple for my co-worker. I think she is due this week!! I will finish this one this evening. Want to start the scripture afghan this evening also. I need more yarn for this one though and I hate to start without everything I need.....usually something disastrous happens!! So far, I have lt. sage and a buttercup yellow. I want to also use a dark neutral color like camel, almond and I think then a dark red...wine, etc. Then edge it in bone probably. This will be a gift for my Mother for Christmas so, I'm trying to use the colors in her bedroom. Yellow, green, wine, gold, linen I think. May sub the almond with a gold if I can find the right color. I would like to yarn shop this evening, but am feeling a little lazy. And, not sure what kind of selection the store I have in mind keeps. Hate to get dressed for nothing, lol.

Work

Well, I'm supposed to drive in tonight for a 12 hour shift. Am hoping for a GTO tonight. Melissa (sister from Ga.) is flying home this evening and I have worked almost the entire time she has been home. I'm hopeful, but realistic. The RN's hardly ever get a GTO, so I will probably try to get in a nap before time to leave. I woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep so....guess what? I crocheted, lol. Actually, it's my own fault I woke up so early. Had a headache yesterday evening, so I fixed my self a crown and coke(or 2) and before I knew it I was ready for bed.....at 8:30! Oh well, it felt great to be relaxed! Since I am never in a relaxed state normally, I think I deserved this little break from reality, lol.
I'm VERY glad that the holidays are over and I can get my house back to some semblance of normalcy. The tree, the Santa's, the nativity scene all looked lovely but....I want them to be gone! Hopefully, DH will put some of this away if I do work tonight. If not, I will be packing it away as soon as I get home!
Must go now and eat, am famished!

Finished a couple of scarves for the ladies at work. The light colored one didn't come out well in the pic, true color is shown in the pic with the blue one. The pink/coral was done in Bernat Envy and Aldemir eyelash, The blue/green was done in Fun Fur and the brown was done in Aldemir and Bernat Boa. Currently working on a round ripple baby ghan for another lady at work who is expecting this month. Doing this one in mint, blue and white Bernat baby coordinates. Here is a shot of my progress so far.
